During my early days at Hedrich-Blessing, commercial architectural spaces made up the bulk of my work. While the genres I photograph today share a more balanced weight, those commercial projects still comprise a lot of what we capture. We’ve photographed CannonDesign’s own Chicago studio, Gensler’s offices for Discover as well as Walgreens’ headquarters in the Old Post Office. A good workplace is built around the people in it, so we usually invite a few in. We look for the light at the window wall, the quiet corner and the long view down the floor that tells you how the whole place works.
