Mac Daddy

Its been well over a year since Apple has announced any new products that didn’t begin with “i”. Sure I dig my iPad and I can see why they focus on the cash cow that the phone has become, but hey… what about computers? You remember computers, don’t ya Steve? My anxiousness for a new Mac Pro is so well known that I got a call from Miami at 8:30 this morning to alert me to Apple’s announcement of the new machines which will be available with up to 12 cores. Oh my friggin God. Finally.
I can finally stop retouching on my laptop (which is currently my fastest machine) AND have something to crunch the video I’ve started shooting lately. Hallelujah. Thank you Cupertino!

I can’t wait to read the specs of the new “C.B. Custom Deluxe Mac Pro.” You always get the best toys…errr…I mean professional equipment ;-).

What rig are you shooting video with?

That was my question — what’s the video setup, and the subject?

I’m just getting that off the ground. Working with the 5d2 on tripod and playing with different routes for handheld. Tried the Steadicam Merlin, which I did not love. Also want to try the glidecam. I got an adapter ring to use my Zeiss 85 (Nikon Mount) and the footage from that lens was just gorgeous… which has me considering the new line of Zeiss Compact Primes. First I really need to see if this video thing is going to go anywhere though. I’ve done an initial test using a client’s office, but I think I want to go back with the Glidecam. Fun and exciting stuff!
