February 2011

I’ll be co-teaching a Phase One workshop this summer with Jeffrey Totaro.  While previous Seminars in the PODAS series have focused on fine art imaging this will be the first event that is specific to a niche of professional photography.  I’m really looking forward to working with Jeffrey as we take the group through 3 days of study that involve shooting exteriors and interiors here in Chicago.  There will also be a classroom day devoted to post-production and other elements of our profession.  Tuition and locations have yet to be determined but the date is set for July 15 – 17.

Earlier this winter, you know, when it was charmingly cool rather than numbingly frigid… before The Blizzard of 2011 we were up at Herman Miller for a month-and-a-half working on various projects with our friends there.  One of those projects was their new system, Canvas.  Aside from several days of photography, we also did some motion work.  It was actually our first commercial shoot with the newly acquired Red One.  It was a lot of fun pulling the Arca off set after the stills were captured and setting up the cine camera in its place.  Below is the result of our efforts.
